Deep Silver, publisher of the upcoming Dead Island, announced yesterday that Square Enix will distribute the game in North America.
While best known for its Japanese RPGs, Square Enix began an aggressive campaign of courting western partners and developers in 2009. This distribution deal is the latest in a series of moves, including its acquisition of Eidos, designed to increase the publisher's standing in the West.
Dead Island is the first high-profile title from Deep Silver. Previous games from the publisher include Nail'd and Get Fit with Mel B.
