If I had to pick one--for there are a LOT of under appreciated 'Mons out there--I would probably end up picking Smeargle. Sure, his stats are, frankly, TERRIBLE but Sketch is one of the most useful attacks in the world, and Smeargle itself only has one weakness: Fighting. So, avoid using him against Fighting types, and give him some good attacks that can Super Effective a lot of Pokemon, and you've got a really nifty Pokemon....But his poor stats...But he's so cute..!!

i can't think of a pokemon that is appreciated but i wanted to let people who wanted to know how ash got pikachu one the first episode ash was late to get his first pokemon so the only pokemon left was a pikachu that did not like to stay in its pokeball pikachu did not like ash and did not listen so at first ash had pikachu tied to a rope then later in the episode ash gets mad and kicks a pebble and it hits a spearow and the pokemon gets mad pikachu uses thunder and spearow flys away and comes back with more spearow and a fearow and eventually pikachu saves ash and then pikachu has to go to the pokemon center and after that they become friends if i remember right this is how ash got pikachu i saw the first episode when it first aired in the u.s and i have not missed one episode at all i will always be a pokemon fan

I'd have to say Flygon. When people think of dragon types most go straight to Salemence, or a legendary. I loved Flygon and in sapphire there was glitch with it that may still work. It's ability it levitate, so when Flygon uses dig and some other poke uses earthquake, guess what happenes? It dosen't work. Plus the ground/dragon type is a good combo that came up again with Garchomp.

no, someone made that minotauros pic on deviant art like a year ago
  • theemporer - June 22, 2010 3:18 a.m.

Japanese people are bizzare and Minotauros is plausable.

Porygon. It shows up in all the games, got a few evolutions but still hasn't been in the Pokemon anime since that one episode. You know, the banned one that caused all those Japanese kids to have seizures. It's about time to finally forgive Porygon for crimes he didn't commit (it was actually that dick, Pikachu who caused the flashing effects). Even Porygon2 and Z haven't shown up in the anime yet. Bottom line - replace Pikachu with the angular duck...thing.

Underappreciated? Definitely Banette. Such a sinister and cool looking pokemon (with one of the best trick room set up movesets ever) was overlooked by Game Freak themselves, opting to give Dusclops an EXTREMELY unnecessary evolution but leaving Banette in the dust.

Definitely Shuckle. A kid in Gold/Silver just gives you one randomly in return for nothing. He obviously didn't care about his Shuckle very much. Most people don't know this but Shuckle can actually make rare candies out of berries if held long enough.

I'd say heracross. he has an outstanding movepool and his type diversity gives him a great edge. he works really well as part of a competetive team and i feel like no one gives him enough credit
  • efreed52 - June 22, 2010 1:34 a.m.

Nidoking. He was always my best, and favorite, pokemon. if i tell people that Nidoking is my favorite their immediate response is always either "why?" or "you mean that spiky purple guy?"
  • WaffleLeech - June 22, 2010 1:32 a.m.

Lapras is way underappreciated. Not only does its sprite not suck front or back, but also, its stats are higher than a starters third evolution, its a great mixed attacker and recieves STAB on two of the most used attacks in the game: Surf and Ice Beam. More proof: No-one else has mentioned her.
  • ChipTheExecutioner - June 22, 2010 1:09 a.m.

Pinsir probably, of the original 151 he was arguably the best bug type in the game, he has higher attack and defense than scyther, but scyther looks a lot cooler so he gets the popularity and the kickass evolution. then pokemon like heracross and vespiquen came out and he was simply outclassed by the newer bug types. poor fella had so potential

Dunsparce. Nobody seems to remember they exist.
  • Romination - June 22, 2010 12:27 a.m.

Nidoking and Nidoqueen. It seems that the TRAINERS in the games like them, but actual players, I've seen nary a one. I heavily considered adding a Queen to my team but that was only because it was a shiny.

@twishart soon! we just need to find the right intro/outro (i'm picky). expect some rudimentary intro music within the next couple episodes though. other than that we don't plan to do any editing to the show itself, so don't expect a talkradar-style show or anything... we literally record and post within 45 min (as opposed to chris's 48 hours of editing). rock bottom production values ensure freshness!
  • twishart - June 21, 2010 11:34 p.m.

WHY IS THERE NO THEME MUSIC FOR POKEMANS MONDAY?
  • GreenLikesGreen - June 21, 2010 11:17 p.m.

definatly shuckle! it just has such awesome defenses and it can toxic-stall almost everything!
