Persona 4 fighting game trailer makes our Midnight Channel dreams real

Shin Megami Tensei fans rejoice, as we have the first gameplay footage of the just revealed fighting game based on Persona 4. Taking place after the events of Persona 4, Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena (which is the unofficial translated title) has all our favorites like Chie, Kanji and Teddie fighting (reportedly) in a tournament of Teddie’s design. Did we ever mention that Teddie is a badass?

The gameplay featured has the manic action and the fluid animation we’ve come to expect from the game’s developer based on their previous games like BlazBlue. Also, Persona 3 fans should be happy to see the android girl Aegis in action, as she’s the first and hopefully not the last of the P3 characters invading the game. The title’s been announced for PS3 and 360 in Japan, and hopefully Atlus’ US branch will confirm it soon. Hell, if they put out Catherine in the US, importing this one should be a piece of cake.

I made a little squeal of glee when I heard Aegis would be in here, I really am hoping this game will be as fantastic as it looks, because I'll be getting it day one, imported perhaps.

I clicked on this after watching the Cookie Monster video under the title, but what do I see, but Persona. More Cookie Monster, please!

Why not just add all the characters from all Persona games? It would make the game a lot better!

I'm fashionably late to the Persona party, only just started P3 :( But glad to see the series is still getting some love, I love the style and presentation of the games and this one seems to keep all that intact.

Yes to M-Bison Teddy, yes to folding chair weapons and yes to Jojo' Bizarre Adventure stands.

The great thing about fighting games is that you really don't need to be able to understand Japanese to enjoy them. I am really looking forward to this.

Really hoping that its worth the price. If there are really only 12 characters, I'll be disappointed.

Why? Blazblue pulled it off with less.

This will, without a doubt, be the greatest fighting game ever crafted.
