Nintendo knows how to take something old and make it seem totally new. It's especially capable of pulling your strings to make you want its products more than your next breath. Why then, is its new video showcasing the black Wii bundle so... cheap?
I mean... wow. It's literally like they found footage from a 1am infomercial that ran in 1993, right in between adverts for the Philips CDi and Susan "Stop the insanity" Powder. The trackline up top looks like an old VCR tape about to unspool itself into oblivion. The drab background and the static monitor behind Reggie Fils-Aime are decidedly low rent, and even the audio has that high-pitched squeal found only in local commercials. Granted, it's posted on Business Wire and not meant for enthusiast press sites or their audiences, but hey, it's still amusing.
But oh, right. The white or black Wii will now be bundled with Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort and Wii MotionPlus, all for $199.99. Extremely good deal if you're still holding out, and like Reggie said, there are some high-tier games on the way.
