Outworld is a silly place where the most powerful fighters in the world meet to kick each other in the groin and perform random acts of violence that would make Itchy and Scratchy cringe. But that’s how it’s supposed to be. Since Mortal Kombat first descended upon the arcade scene in 1992, the series’ staple finishing moveshave always been a mixture of extreme gore with a touch of comedy. A recently released mini-documentary takes a look at how developer NetherRealm Studio created the bloody and funny Fatalities in the new Mortal Kombat. The video shows a bit of everything from the creative process,revealingearly story boards, motion capturing footage and post-production tricks.
