Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence DLC screens to eye up

We feel like we've been here before. Last time round we had a right old bitch about why we thought the Stimulus pack was a big fat rip-off and then it went and sold a million in 24 hours.

That showed us.

And now here's another set of MW2 DLC at the exorbitant price of 1200 MS points. Oh, and two of these maps are from the original Modern Warfare: Strike and that bastard Vacant one that always ends in about three minutes. Have a look at a picture of them:

Above: Vacant circa 2010.

Above: Strike circa 2010.

Pretty similar, huh?

Anyway, because we know what it feels like to be addicted to Modern Warfare - some of us are - and will get this because it's something new and we don't have to leave the house to buy it, here are the new maps that 1200 MS points is really buying you:

Carnival (an abandoned funfair)

Fuel (which looks a lot like Rust)

Trailer Park (looks suspiciously like the boneyard from MW2)

We can't tell you how these are likely to pan out in multiplayer because we haven't had the chance to play them yet, but we're guessing something like this: spawn, die, spawn, die, spawn, die, spawn, die, oh shit someone's already got a pissing tactical nuke, die, sigh, repeat til 4am.

To celebrate the launch of the new pack, Infinity Ward is hosting two Double XP weekends beginning May 28 and June 4 respectively. You can download the map pack from Xbox Live on 3rd June with the PS3 versions following later.

The only reason I get these are: 1. Me and my friend share anything we buy on the PSN Store so I get mine for free. 2. I am tenth prestige and bored out of hell.

What's next? Are they gonna put some other shit maps on there...So $15 for 3 new maps again...FUCK YOU ACTIVISION
  • RebornKusabi - May 15, 2010 2:38 a.m.

It doesn't make a difference, because people will continue to buy them for some dumbass reason, but I still haven't bought the first set of maps and I'm glad they kept that shit to it's correct game-types (re: those final two game-types at the bottom of the list) because my Microsoft Points are served for better things like downloading an entire game or getting DLC released by Bioware, Rockstar and Bethesda.

Vacant was an awesome map. But for serious, everyone sucks for buying this recycled crap. ReCAPTCHA: scalded community Oh, irony.
  • DarkMatter032 - May 14, 2010 10:59 p.m.

This is straight ripoff... why not just make it as an add-on to Stimulus...
  • mcdangles26 - May 14, 2010 9:39 p.m.

I think i may need to change my pants.

STRIKE! that was a boss map. Vacant was pure shotgun spamming SHIT! and the newer maps look okay. but the only reason i got the stimulus package was cause i got MW2 on the discount weekend so it was more like a payed $5 not 15 for the DLC.

  • Bonesqaw - May 14, 2010 8:15 p.m.

StonedMagician99, the best deal is Bad Company 2, since its DLC is free
  • bluscorp - May 14, 2010 8:13 p.m.

I think eveybody would've bought it if they'de included some spec-ops, but no, just maps. If they ever release new spec ops, i'll buy MW2 again.

  • CombatWombat101 - May 14, 2010 6:38 p.m.

@ StonedMagician99: I'll be honest... as much as I love everything Bioshock, and Bioshock 2 is one of my favourite games ever, etc. etc... The multiplayer, well... it sucked. A lot. So yeah, I think I'll pick up the map pack for the game I'll actually play and have fun with.

Carnival looks epic, but I still won't buy this, if it comes with undead clowns like L4D2 I definitely will.
  • breener96 - May 14, 2010 6:32 p.m.

How has Backlot not been re-made yet?!
  • frmonth - May 14, 2010 5:46 p.m.

  • SoutheastSam - May 14, 2010 4:37 p.m.

How long ago was Stimulus released?
  • Zack117 - May 14, 2010 4:28 p.m.

Only one that looks interesting to me is carnival but even at that people will just hide and camp inside the fun house. Still getting it cause my friends and I are all addicted to MW2.
