Mario Golf: World Tour tees off on 3DS this summer

The world is your sand trap

The Mushroom Kingdom's citizens and foes will take it back to the links this summer for Mario Golf: World Tour on 3DS, Nintendo revealed in today's Direct presentation. The latest entry will be helmed by series developer Camelot, also known for its work on the Mario Tennis series.

Players will be able to tee off on traditional courses, as well as more exotic regions of the bizarre world of Mario, in full 3D.

Nintendo said the game boasts simple controls and a "deeper experience" for golf fans. We hope it keeps the surprisingly deep role-playing elements which distinguished previous portable Mario sports games from their console cousins, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Eh, if Mario Tennis Open is any indication, itll be the same. These games seem to stick with the console equivalent rather than the RPG but lets see if Camelot learned their lesson from Open. Despite how much liked using Dry Bowser Online, the game really was a short coming
