New screens of Naughty Dog's first new game since creating the Uncharted series have shown up on the internet. Predictably, they look nothing short of sensational. There's a mix of concept art and game footage in there, as 5 and 6 look like they've been painted rather than rendered. But it's the 'not painted' ones we're excited by.

Imagine these detailed character models moving about and conversing with the fluidity of Uncharted's Nate and Elena - then imagine that carrying over into the combat. Sure, we could point out that the guy who's trying to choke Ellie while Joel kicks him in the head looks like an almost direct copy of Joel himself, but hey - it's still early days. And Joel himself looks kinda familiar...

We may not have much in the way of details in terms of how the game will play, but that doesn't mean we haven't compiled this list of hints dropped by Naughty Dog itself. Me might have been told a lot more than it seems without even knowing it...

Can you tell me what there is to drool over in these screenshots? All I see are LQ Textures and console dribble all over them. Yea, it looks good for a garbage console game. Tell me when it can hold a candle to Crysis 2 DX11. It's sad that people think this game looks good, then again, Naughty Dog gets praised for bullshit all the time.

Then why waste your time here when you can go drool to Crysis 2 DX11?

I'm just glad that all I have to do is spend around $300 for a console and get a game that looks as good as this, and be completely satisfied with how it looks. It's sad how people think graphics are the defining trait of a game. Instead of making it a matter of opinion, they make it out to be something of a cultural difference between themselves and the vast majority of people who think this game looks good. Are my eyes broken? Do I not see the same graphical quality as you do? Or is it your pompous ass glasses that make anything that isn't running on your top of the line PC complete and utter shit? Oh yeah, it looks good, for a piece of dog shit wrapped in burnt hair. But compared to MY Uber-Head-Up-My-Own-Ass-PC it's about as insignificant as a single white pixel. Let me guess, you, or your life is so inadequate that your sole source of superiority and self-esteem is taking pride in the fact that you have a computer with some good specs. WELL GOOD FOR YOU. It's condescending, snide cretins like you that are contributing to the devolution of our species. Also, you make the comments section of this site pretty damn unpleasant. Fuck off please.

You PC gamers are such homos

Just to clarify, not all of us are this.......ignorant. Besides, there's better looking games from the one he described. Regardless, this game looks great.

The dude grabbing Ellie in the third screen is the same dude from the second last photo getting curb stomped off of Ellie. Either this is part of a mission where you have to save her from the douche, or they just only have a couple finished raider models.

Oh great, more movie like "games" with lots of chatter, lots of cutscenes and bland gameplay.

All we've seen is a trailer and a handful of screenshots, don't make assumptions about things you know nothing about
  • FlameChucks76 - February 10, 2012 5:34 p.m.

Better than more multiplayer focused military shooters.
  • Imgema - February 10, 2012 8:50 p.m.

Not better, but just as bad

Is this supposed to be To Catch a Predator the game or something? I'm sorry, I'm not jumping on the hype train (I know,Uncharted omg!)until this game is actually shown in its..... "game" form.

...Am I the only one who doesn't really see a resemblance between Joel and Nathan Drake? Even without the beard? I mean- I dunno, I feel the nose is different, the eyes look different. Perhaps not radically so. But I still think most people make the connection more because it's a naughty Dog game, and less because they actually look alike.
  • taokaka - February 9, 2012 3 p.m.

you're not alone, I never saw the resemblance between the Joel and drake but I did for Ellie and Ellen Paige.
  • BladedFalcon - February 9, 2012 3:23 p.m.

Ah well, I don't dispute that one at all XD I definitely do find a resemblance between Ellie and Ellen Page. It's just the other comparison that bugs me.

It never even crossed my mind until I saw people were talking about it. My guess is the fact the Naughty Dog is developing it, the fact that Joel is the main protagonist and the fact that his clothing is mildly similar to ND's.

Image 3 makes Joel Look so much like Nathan
  • metalgatesolid - February 9, 2012 9:37 a.m.

Screen 6 interests me the most. looks more like it could be set in a quarantine zone as aposed to a world wide outbrake.
  • Squander - February 9, 2012 9:45 a.m.

yes mate - it takes place in a quarantine zone in Boston, 20 years after the outbreak
  • ThatsWhatSheSaid - February 9, 2012 9:21 a.m.

is that Adam Jensen in 3? man they should get Drake, Joel and Jensen in the same game as a trio :)
  • db1331 - February 9, 2012 8:51 a.m.

It looks like Uncharted mixed with Enslaved, which could be a really good thing. Hopefully they don't shoehorn in some lame multiplayer mode in place of having a really robust single player campaign with new game+ goodies.
