I can't buy a Wii U until they implement an achievements/trophy system. That's the only reason to play video games: To earn achievements & trophies!

    You're doing it wrong :/
  • XNam360 - June 21, 2013 9:41 a.m.

If by "You're," you mean Nintendo, then you're right.
  • Fireninjastar - June 21, 2013 10:07 a.m.

I play games for the games. Not achievements. Srsly why
  • XNam360 - June 21, 2013 10:54 a.m.

It's a feature that plenty of people like. If you don't like it, fine. But Nintendo needs to appeal to more people, not just you.
  • Fireninjastar - June 21, 2013 11:05 a.m.

So you're gonna get all the Red Rings on Sonic 4: Ep II for that one achievement?
  • XNam360 - June 21, 2013 11:15 a.m.

I'd have to buy the game in order to do that. And that's the point. Achievements are a selling point.
  • Fireninjastar - June 21, 2013 1:19 p.m.

If you could get currency off Achievements, THEN I will buy.
  • XNam360 - June 21, 2013 3:23 p.m.

I am advocating a feature that everyone except Nintendo already has. You are suggesting a feature that no one has. There is a difference.
  • talleyXIV - June 21, 2013 5:23 p.m.

You're crazy if you think that is a big deal. Beat a game and right down its name, then tell everyone you know "I beat this game and this game." That is what achievements are worth. Are you saying Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, N64, SNES, ANY CONSOLE BEFORE THIS GEN is useless because of no achievements? You're fucking weird dude.
  • XNam360 - June 21, 2013 6:32 p.m.

Your previous gen argument is irrelevant to this discussion because no one had that feature in the past. These days it's a common feature everywhere (e.g., XboxLive, PSN, Steam, iOS), with the lone exception of Nintendo. "Beat a game and right [sic] down its name"??? Nintendo's supposed to be trying to catch up, not remain stuck in the past.
  • Child Of Death - June 20, 2013 2:53 p.m.

I would buy the system in a heartbeat if they were to announce another Metroid.
  • BladedFalcon - June 20, 2013 3:40 p.m.

    Metroid: Other M 2! :DDDDD
  • Fireninjastar - June 21, 2013 10:10 a.m.

And Star Fox. Maybe mother 4.
  • shawksta - June 21, 2013 1:44 p.m.

News: Microsoft lets Rare go after being completely useless, returns to Nintendo only to announce their making Star Fox Adventures 2 We don't even have Mother 3 in the states, maybe a collection of all 3 mother games THEN Mother 4 :D

A price cut is definitely slightly uncalled for; I think the WiiU is good value for money for its current price. They just need to promote it more, as is being implied when Iwata says it's necessary to show people the beneficial features of the WiiU. I know this is essentially a price-cut in disguise, but I think Nintendo ought to experiment with some more bundles. Surely it doesn't cost them a lot to preinstall a digital version of a game like they have been doing with the 3DS? Chuck in a WiiU with Mario Kart 8 (yes, you'd perceive it that way round, lawls), and Nintendo gets a new license to print money.
  • shawksta - June 20, 2013 1:40 p.m.

Pretty much this. More bundles should do it. They definitely need more promotions, bring back that hyperactive guy and his "Non-specific Action Figure" in commercials.
  • Swedish_Chef - June 21, 2013 11:50 a.m.

Non-Specific Action Figure for Smash Bros!!!
  • shawksta - June 21, 2013 1:47 p.m.

Frankly they acknowledged him in the end of 2012 where iwata says Miyamoto and Reggie did a good job, and then once they were gone, pulls out Non-Specific action figure and tells hi he did the best job XD And really NSAF looks very similar to Captain Rainbow who never went outside Japan because his game was just too much lewd.
  • larkan - June 20, 2013 4:40 p.m.

They didn't start actually selling the 3DS until they dropped the price. They need to do the same here or just call it quits before they get in too deep.
  • DragonLord23 - June 20, 2013 12:03 p.m.

They don't need a price cut. They need to get rid of the deluxe model and just have the 299 version with a big hard drive. One version is all they need.
  • Longnuts - June 20, 2013 11:45 a.m.

Metroid and Zelda would convince me to buy.
  • iris-thestylist - June 20, 2013 11:42 a.m.

Oh Crap!! Does this mean No BAYONETTA 2 ?? Nintendo you suck! That was my only option to force me to buy a freaking Wii U.
  • Technomancer - June 20, 2013 12:02 p.m.

Relax, Bayonetta 2 is still happening.
