Heavenly Sword CGI film planned

Sony hasn't forgotten about Heavenly Sword, the 2007 PlayStation 3 exclusive from Ninja Theory. We don't know if we'll ever get a sequel to Nariko's bloody adventure, but we will, apparently, get a direct-to-video CGI movie.

The news came as a footnote in Variety's exclusive on the 2015 Ratchet & Clank feature film. Digital media firm Blockade Entertainment will produce both movies, though the report made no mention of a release date for Heavenly Sword.

It's not an awful lot to go on, so we've reached out to Sony for more information. We'll update this story with any response.

Please Sony, get Santa Monica Studio to develop the next Heavenly Sword, because I do not want a movie adaptation of Heavenly Sword.

direct to video dang thats a death sentence in fact it means it's already dead. (cue funeral music)

I love the idea but lets face it a colossal 1% of announced video game movies end up seeing a release.

Is "direct-to-video" still a word? I read that and imagined a VHS cassette.

Why? I mean I'm not complaining, It just seams like a very random game to make a cgi movie for.

Maybe Sony is interested in reviving the franchise, and is taking a tentative first step? Sony hasn't gotten back to me yet, so your guess is as good as mine on this one.

I will buy this day one.
