Guild Wars 2 Collector's Edition unboxing

Guild Wars 2's  servers go live next Tuesday for the masses (or on Saturday, if you've pre-ordered), giving gamers a new virtual world to run around and kill stuff in. We'll be covering the game extensively in the weeks following the launch with review journals, videos, opinions, and all of that fun stuff, but before we can talk about the game, we need to open the box! The Collector's Edition just arrived in our offices, so we immediately ripped it open in front of a camera, pouring its innards out onto the internet for all to see.

Once we'd rifled through the box and plucked out the game--which we need to write the review--we decided we might as well give the other cool stuff away! Stay tuned to GamesRadar's podcast, RadioRadar, for more information on that.

In the meantime, are you planning on picking the game up? Let us know in the comments below!

You certainly can have a collector's edition without "the making of" and a soundtrack. In fact, I'd say the majority of them don't even have those things. When I buy a limited edition there's only three things I want in any combination (all is best, of course): 1. An art book 2. A making of DVD or book 3. A soundtrack Here's an example. I got the Gears of War collector's edition that came in a tin with a book and making of DVD. I got the Gears 2 collector's edition that came with a steelbook, art book, and making of DVD. I did NOT get the Gears 3 limited edition because it came with a replica medal, flag, character skin, and other "memorabilia" that I don't give a crap about. The Epic edition came with an art book but it was $150 because it included a statue. Same with Skyrim– would have gotten it if it didn't get a price hike to $150 because it came with a statue I don't want. Ditto for Borderlands 2. Give me crap I want! If you're going to put out 3 versions, at least pack some good stuff in the middle one. ANYWAY, my point is that the GW2 collector's edition is a good value.

The sword that he wants to use, well that's the Fiery Dragon Sword; and as far as I know, you can get it by doing the Hall of Monuments challenge.

Can't wait to finally be able to level up a character without them being wiped like the beta weekend characters. What server were you planning on playing on Coop? Also I am giddy merely at the possibility of owning that statue
