Atari's upcoming download-only title Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is set to succeed where the third Ghostbusters movie repeatedly failed an increasingly despairing public. That is to say, by all accounts, it exists, and will be released in due time. Given how many failures-to-launch the movie has endured, that's actually a fair accomplishment.
If you were anxious that the game might eschew familiar Ghostbusters locations such as New York's slime-caked sewers, this “locations” trailer is here to reassure you otherwise. You shall fight them on the streets, you shall fight them in the creepy abandoned hotels, and – yes! – you shall fight them where New Yorkers' hot dogs go to die.

Whereas the movie's inability to materialize can probably be pinned on a cast that’s overprotective of the series' legacy, the game dispatches with all that by casting you and your pals as a whole new team of rookie 'busters. Hell, if the trailer is anything to go by, even Ray Parker Jr's theme tune gets a sound-alike do-over for the game. If that's what it takes to get a Ghostbusters product out there nowadays, maybe Aykroyd and co. should be taking notes. What do you think of the new-look Ghostbusters? Let us know.
