FX developing a From Hell TV show

FX is planning a TV adaptation of Alan Moore comic-book From Hell, which made its way onto the big screen back in 2001, with Johnny Depp in the leading role.

The comic-book follows the legend of Jack the Ripper, with the Ripper himself occupying centre stage as the main character.

The story charts the events leading up to the infamous Whitechapel killings, before moving on to the ensuing cover-up, with the comic-book clocking in at a whopping 572 pages.

The film's producer, Don Murphy, is involved in an executive producer capacity, while Children Of Men scribe David Arata will pen the script.

No word as yet regarding a potential air date, as it's pretty early days on this one. Expect more information and casting over the coming months...
