Flashback remake coming in 2014

Remember that old 16-bit platformer that was incredibly difficult, had a Metroid-esque vibe, and had an amnesiac protagonist trapped in a jungle? Well, that was Flashback, and the classic puzzle platformer is getting a fresh coat of paint from the original creators. Developer VectorCell is remaking Flashback with improved visuals while keeping all of the original gameplay intact. Plus, the developer is adding a few new features to bring the game into the modern age.

Ubisoft revealed the remake, showing beautiful graphics, improved cinematics, and additional gameplay elements, like a skill system. The skill system allows you to upgrade Conrad (the protagonist) with three different performance upgrade choices: accuracy, technology, and stamina. Each will improve his various abilities giving you additional options to solve the environmental puzzles.

Flashback will be coming to XBLA and PSN in 2014. Be sure to check back for more information as we get closer to the game's release.
