One thing that’s great about sequels is they can correct mistakes from the original, and one of the biggest complaints about Final Fantasy XIII was the general annoying nature of Hope. These new screens of an older, perhaps wiser Hope brought back our hope that the character can be good. We got a huge pile of new screens from Square today that not only feature the controversial character, but also new areas, gambling, and Chocobo races.

The casino-like area is known as Xanadu is where you’ll find minigames like slot machines and the aforementioned Chocobo racing. Sharp-eyed readers will also spot the bustling, futuristic city of Academia, as well as the puzzle-ish Time Labyrinths. As happy as we are to see Hope getting another chance, we’re more stoked to spot Tonberryin this collection of images. We love that guy and his stabbing ways.

so who is the "She Hope"? seeing that glimpse of Sazh in that last trailer only made me want to see more /)_(\ MUST FIND MORE OF HIM.

I gotta be honest, really not buying the pokemon and time travel gimmicks. But when I see screenshots like these, the child in my mind whispers, "It's good~~" I can't shake sight of ever so present JRPG artistic style and subtle serenade OST of old FF. I don't think anyone is capable of being 100% objective and it's good, we're not robot. Nostalgia is a powerful thing, even though I think Elder Scroll and Mass Effect are better RPG, but FF always has its appeal.

Sazh was the only character worth breath in FFXIII. And I haven't seen him yet (probably won't) one else here for me. (Fang and Vanille is cool too I guess.) Also this game still looks non-great in any way, besides still looking beautiful, in admittance.

Sazh was in their last big trailer they did. only for a split second though :( he's a good 20% of the reason im buying the game...

Hope was a strange character in my eyes. He had the most potential for an engaging story, and in fairness, his story was quite good. And as the Tortoise mentioned, his summon is wicked. Regardless, I put FF down for quite a while, more than once, just because of his annoying nature and the fact he couldn't fight worth sh*t (that was probably more my fault though haha)...

I still stand that, yes, while Hope starts off totally annoying and whiny, he has the best character arc in the game.

Not to mention his summon is a giant futching robot.
