E3 2011: See Nintendo's crazy new Wii U controller being held and fiddled with by a woman on the showfloor

So the big talking point of E3 is Nintendo's new controller. Which is certainly dividing opinion like wood on a chopping block. It's another piece of radical Nintendo genius/madness that could be the best/worst thing ever. We love/hate it already. Have you made up your mind about it? While you're having a think, check out this video direct from E3 of a woman paid to demonstrate the Wii U controller earning her money.

Nicely demonstrated. For more on Nintendo's new console and controller, consult our article about all the Wii U hardware info you need to know.

The guy did seem to have a problem choosing between recording the WiiU controller and the girls nork's! But I was impressed that he managed to get a reasonable amount of both into the video.

the buttons and sticks look odd, like it was trying to compete with the PSP's desgin, I guess that would be the case outside the US

And yes, that is very much what she said.

Not as big as I thought it'd be, but I wanna get my hands on it before I make any descisions.

She can fiddle with my controller anytime she wants. Oh, and the Wii U looked alright as well.

Mmmmm...."woman fiddling with Wii" fetish video... Looks pretty slick, but I hate to see how much it'll cost to get a full set of controllers. It's interesting that they're moving away from the Wiimote, Kinect, Move thing.

@philiphorton If I remember correctly the Wii U specs article made it sound like the console will be compatible with the classic controller. HOPEFULLY they will make a cheaper, screen free, actual stick controller. At least I hope, because I know I won't fork out $100+ for additional controllers.

I'd like to get my hands on those dual nubs, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING.
  • philiphorton - June 8, 2011 11:20 a.m.

Is nobody else massively disappointed that it has those stupid slighty pad things (like the 3DS) instead of proper analogue sticks. Fail!
  • edtrotter - June 8, 2011 10:57 a.m.

Wait... there was a WiiU controller in that video?
  • Shatgan - June 8, 2011 10:33 a.m.

    Good view :P

In this day and age it is not possible for a console or a piece of technology like this to fail. AS always theres potential but i think I won't be getting one. I really like the PSV though and I will be getting one depending on the support for it.

Wow, all that button pressing just for the Wii U title screen. I bet the games released for the system will be even harder. Ninchillas will be epically old school hard. Good news is, I might actually buy a Wii if it drops in price more as a result of this.

nice, I kinda feel sorry for people like her, " aww heres another nerd who wants me to spin the controller and press button" I just wanna know whether it feels good to play normal games on it given the size of the thing.
