E3 2010: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina coming to 3DS

Ask some people what the best game of all time is and they might say Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, an N64 game that raised the bar for 3D gameplay and adventure exponentially. And now, on the same day that Nintendo announced the newest Zelda for Wii, they also announced that Ocarina is getting remade with the third dimension and 3DS in mind.

Just how much it’s getting tweaked and how well it takes to the system are yet to be seen, but it looks like the 3DS has added another gem to its ever growing list of awesome titles. Sure we’ve played through LOZ: OoT twice already, but if 3DS looks as good as it sounds, we’re ready to go through it again.

That's just awesome. My favourite game is Mario 64 (Nintendo DS) and the next would be Zelda OoT. I cannot wait.

This is the only Zelda game that I've played and beaten. When I get me a 3DS (no matter the price), this incredible game (along with Star Fox, Kid Icarus, and whatever gold comes its way) is on my list.

" Sure we’ve played through LOZ: OoT twice already, but if 3DS looks as good as it sounds, we’re ready to go through it again." Twice? really? I've finished the game 34 times, and i'm so getting it for the 3DS

The N64 ugly has put me off of Ocarina. If they update enough of the graphics, I may play it.
  • Conman93 - June 16, 2010 8:23 a.m.

I'm still in shock after yesterday so i'll respond with a simple yay!
  • 510BrotherPanda - June 16, 2010 7:03 a.m.

I never owned the original, but played it with my god brother's N64. I reserved Wind Waker just to get the OoT Master Quest disc, too. It will be a while before I can afford to get anything 3DS, my family says I've got too many handhelds as is. reCAPTCHA: wait- hurries I can't wait, but my empty wallet won't let me hurry...

I am thinking that the 3DS will the first game platform I have EVER purchased on launch day. FUCK. In one afternoon Nintendo have taken my opinion of the 3DS from almost entirely disinterested to OMFGMUSTHAVE.

I am so glad my DSLite broke. Now i have another good reason to buy the 3DS. I can't wait to play this and Kid Icarus. Fuck Yeah!
  • Spybreak8 - June 16, 2010 5:03 a.m.

The biggest thing I owned a DS was for Mario Kart, which had N64 tracks, and Mario 64. Now I find out they're brining more of my fav N64 games like this, Starfox and Pilot Wings! I can't believe I'll be buying another DS in the future. ^^

You only played through it twice? I played through it countless times.
  • taterboob - June 16, 2010 3:51 a.m.

    Nintendo scores another direct hit!
  • Justheretowinshit - June 16, 2010 3:50 a.m.

I'm very glad I totally skipped the DS hardware, now I have absolutely no reason to wait on a 3DS with all the games that have already been announced I'll hardly have time to browse through the back catalog.
  • shyfonzie - June 16, 2010 3:42 a.m.

I can't wait, this is a must buy.
  • awsomemaster - June 16, 2010 3:15 a.m.

your going to see millions of people on buses and international flights with funky glasses and cussing up a hellstorm with blue screens in front of them
  • RebornKusabi - June 16, 2010 2:57 a.m.

See? This is exactly what, and why, I'm getting the 3DS for, as well as the Street Fighter 4 game and the Ninja Gaiden game. I know it's so over-rated to say this but it's honestly how I feel: Ocarina of Time is hands-down the best Zelda I've had the extreme pleasure of playing so this update is immediately getting played the very minute it comes out!
  • AuthorityFigure - June 16, 2010 2:22 a.m.

    Launch title eh? No thanks.
  • Oxtranzor - June 16, 2010 2:17 a.m.

  • DarthCockels - June 16, 2010 2:08 a.m.

I'm shocked, this remains a favorite. After nearly 15 years I almost want to buy a a Nintendo product. I feel fucking dirty.
  • sgh341 - June 16, 2010 2:04 a.m.

I just have so many amazing memories with this game. This was the last thing I ever expected to come from Nintendo. I nearly cried when I read this. Nintendo is my childhood; this game is one of my greatest childhood memories. I have grown tired of Nintendo recently, but I am now officially a born again fanboy. Thank you Nintendo. I promise to never doubt you again.
