Doritos contest finalist games now free on Xbox Live

Talk about a cheesy contest! Following the success of last year's similar promotion, Doritos and Microsoft have teamed up to make someone's dream of getting a game on Xbox Live come true, and now it's up to you to decide the ultimate winner of the Unlock Xbox challenge.

Available now on Xbox Live Arcade are: Avatar Crash Course and Harm's Way. Both of these were created by amateur game makers with one goal in mind: to "bring to life the bold, intense spirit of the Doritos brand."

The two finalists were chosen after round by round of competition and have been working with Doritos to bring their creative visions to life. Beginning today, players can download both games for free and then cast their vote for which they think is the better one.

The winner will be announced live on Xbox Live on December 29, and will receive $50,000 in cash as well as a chance to work with the Doritos gaming division for six months. Doritos has a gaming division?

Anyway, get downloading (hey, it's easy, free Gamerpoints, if you're that type). The future of these two competitors lies in your hands!

@batman5273 I was wondering what the hell you were playing on Live. lol. Definitely spiced up my friend's list among the sea of Black Ops.

I actually got into the top 10 for this this year. Won 2 grand and a bunch of cool swag. Not a bad deal. Unfortunately got voted out, so now I've DEFINITElY gotta see how my former opponents games turned out. I liked the guy who came up with Harm's Way, so here's hoping his is the best.

There actually pretty good, Doritos boosting a ninja warrior TV style game play with up to 4 players. While harms way is a fun vs racing-shooting game with up to 8 players. Definitely download both right away.

I am playing these games already. Crash Course is like ABC's Wipeout. And Harm's Way lets you either drive a vehicle in a race, or man a turret it shoot at the vehicles and create road hazzards.

Considering the god-awful-ness of last year's game, I'm sure I'll end up downloading both of these, playing them for 15 minutes each, and then deleting them forever. Great job associating your brand with high-quality products, Doritos!
