Long gone are the days when film actors would thumb their noses at the idea of starring in a TV show. Indeed, they’ve gone from firing their agents for so much as suggesting it to begging them to find a quality leading role.
Christian Slater is the latest making the leap to telly after dabbling briefly with guest roles on The West Wing and Alias. He’s signed up to US network NBC, which is basing an untitled spy drama around him. The plot would find him playing a mild-mannered suburban hubbie who learns he has a secret agent alter ego. It’s being pimped as The Bourne Ultimatum meets Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde…
