Castle of Illusion trailer teases summer remake

DuckTales Remastered isn't the only game bound for the Summer of Disney Gaming Nostalgia. While some leaks have hinted at a re-envisioned Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, this teaser trailer proves the remake itself is no illusion.

The 1990 Sega Genesis/Mega Drive classic's vivid scenes and animation remain remarkable two decades later, so we're interested to see how the new game reflects its teaser's moody and monochromatic tones. According to the trailer, we'll only have to wait until summer to find out.

Shit just got real. I played the hell out of this on my Genesis. Can't wait to hit that big ass slide in the toy soldiers level.

I would have liked to see at least still of the actual game in order to be excited, but oh well, I guess this is still good news ^^

What are you on about? Why do you need gameplay when you have the most perfect apple rolling in video games to date, it was dramatic, artful, refined, bodacious and even a little reminiscent of the literary classic "The room". As an enthusiast of rolling fruit I can say it is true to reality while also injecting a spark of flair for those simple folk who can't appreciate or understand the subtlety of fruit rolling. This trailer is great news because the original while great suffered huge flaws mostly the star of the game, Mickey had almost no personality but now they've revealed the direction of this remake and instead will pay closer attention to a more multidimensional character, his breakfast. I challenge you to name one bad protagonist in video games who happened to be an apple, it can't be done because the character of apples are usually so well developed. there is a risk as some lazy writers in the past have fallen back on some character stereotypes of apples such as the traits of having a funny personality, having too dark of a back story and being part of a well balanced diet. ( I think they're missing out by not starring a tangerine) The trailer also gives insight to what the plot could be, it seems that the apple is running away from the woman who keeps her back to the camera while her army go out to capture and return her snack. Her motivations seem to be in a moral grey area, as she wishes to eat the apple in an attempt to keep the doctor away and this could lead to some interesting dilemmas. In conclusion, I say this trailer is superb and you're a fool for not appreciating its bold style.

Lmao. I really have to applaud you for this, I'm sure it took no small effort XD Also, I think it's safe to say that all the apples in the world now consider you to be their hero :P
