Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer revealed, includes Micro Machine of death

Just when we thought we couldn't get anymore excited about Activision's megaton shooter, then along comes a video outlaying all the game's new multiplayer features. So if you want to see Black Ops' new video recording tools, sneaky spy cams or the most dangerous toy since Stinky Pete went on a sociopathic rampage in Toy Story 2, read below...

Just in case your peepers have been ruined by playing Modern Warfare 2 for 14 hours a day, the headlines from the above vid are...

New items called Camera Spikes let you set down surveillance equipment that allow you to spy and get the drop on your enemies.

These gadgets will also seemingly let you record your online matches, ala Halo 3.

In typical COD fashion there will be loads of big-ass explosions...

And of course, who could forget about the Micro Machine of doom? It's the homicidal gift that every nipper should get for Xmas.

Excited about Call of Duty: Black Ops? Have these new multiplayer features got your online bloodlust pumping again? Share your thoughs in the comments below.

I've been a big fan of the CoD series for a while now and I love the games. Great blend of story line, graphics, and just good old fun. One of my favorite aspects of a game is customization. I love choosing armor, coloring, weapons loadout, and various other odds and ends. The multiplayer mode looks to have a lot of fun goodies to tweak in it, but I am one of the roughly %15 of gamers who doesn't play online (not by choice) so we are left out of this experience. I would really like to see these features carry over into the single player campaign. Another thing I wish CoD had was a bot-filled multiplayer mode like we've seen in the Killzone franchise so you can play with a full map of people (bots) just like an online match. Its probably a longshot that these features will make it into a future CoD game, but I think they would be a welcome addition to push the series further.

This somehow make me even less intrested in the game, MOH will be so much better

cold war tech my ass they're only staging it during the cold war for the story then they realised they couldnt have cool stuff so now the game doesnt make sense

@ BearWrastler61 lol i agree with literally everything that you said. whenever ppl complain about realism stuff like "wtf knife insta-kill, sniper rifle hip-fire, and knife running gay" im like ITS A FACKING GAME DUMBASS

I'm ready to trade in MW2, I actually thought WaW was a much better MP experience than MW2. All I want to hear though is "Dedicated Servers"!

at 0:40 I see someone dive hopefully you'll be able to dive anytime, so this could turn out amazingly.

I really hope I didn't see a guided missile as the five kill streak. The barrage of predator missiles makes MW2 obnoxious.
  • werdwood93 - August 10, 2010 2:03 p.m.

I'm still not sure seeing care packages and missiles but i guess the killstreak system has been redone so you can only get one per match
  • Markstone - August 10, 2010 11:43 a.m.

I'm a little worried about the balance of the killstreaks here (albeit they are pretty cool) such as the camera really helping campers and the ballistic knife = commando 2.0
  • SwampRock - August 10, 2010 11:01 a.m.

Infinity Ward I love you, Treyarch just basically took your work and made a slight ass improvement on it, I don't know how to feel. Activision isn't my favorite these days.

there was a smiley in the red dot sight
  • XxOnlineGamerxX - August 10, 2010 5:08 a.m.

@ Dabenguin Close but it is a balistics knife, basically a tactical knife that can shoot the blade out and easily kill at close range, I'm guessing its used as the melee knife and also in replacing the throwing knife
  • GammaGames - August 10, 2010 4:45 a.m.

i hope Wii version has all this! I only have a Wii.
  • FlyinHawaiian13 - August 10, 2010 3:24 a.m.

Forget the ballistic knife where are my damn throwing knives?
  • imcanadian - August 10, 2010 3:10 a.m.

im so glad that the kills you get from your killstreaks dont rack up to your next set of killstreaks. suck my balls campers
  • Cwf2008 - August 10, 2010 2:37 a.m.

*yawn* looks just like MW2...with a few other gadgets. I think im gonna just get Reach and New Vegas
  • Limbo - August 10, 2010 2:36 a.m.

Call of Duty games always bring more of the same, which isn't always a bad thing. As long as this is more balanced than MW2, I could see myself playing this. There's no way it'll top Halo: Reach though, at least not for me. And PLEASE put in a zombies mode. Everyone wants it.
  • civver - August 10, 2010 1:01 a.m.

The Call of Duty (and Modern Warfare) games have a nasty habit of always introducing something annoying. Martyrdom, Dogs, Commando, and now it seems it's the RC Bomb.
  • coopa22cool - August 10, 2010 12:45 a.m.

This actually looks really sick. I think I'm gonna buy it, even though Activision sucks.
  • Turboash - August 10, 2010 12:23 a.m.

Wow, looks a lot like EVERY OTHER COD GAME... wash, rinse, repeat.
