Black Ops 2 Wii U leaked in magazine scans

Both Black Ops 2 and the Nintendo Wii U are a pretty big deal. Both are virtually guaranteed to sells millions upon millions of units this November, so it makes sense that the two would want to partner up. However, up until today there was no indication Activision would be bringing the biggest game in the world to Wii U.

Today that changed as scans of the UK's Nintendo Gamer magazine hit the web featuring a preview of Black Ops 2 for Wii U. And this isn't looking like a mistake as was the case in the Game Informer/Tomb Raider Wii U rumor. That said, there isn't much Wii U-specific information involved. Other than a brief half-sentence mention at the very end, this could be a preview for any system. The end of the preview teases the next issue's reveal of Wii U gameplay.

Call of Duty has a pretty stellar history of quality on the Wii, even if that's not saying much. Almost every game in the CoD series since CoD4 has been on the Wii and managed to provide a solid experience despite the control limitations. With the new Wii U tablet controller we're really interested to see where they go. With so much emphasis on piloting drones, it'd be neat to see simultaneous drone-view on the tablet while playing on the big screen.

We'll have to wait for next month (or an official Activision reveal) to find out more about that, however.

am I the only one who likes the controls for COD on the wii? It offers the precision aim of a mouse and a thumbstick for moving instead of wasd keys. I hope they have the option to use both the classic controller, and the wiimote/nunchuck with the tablet.

That's pretty interesting. I would hope they would put an option in the game to use the Pro controller they announced instead of the tablet for those who want a more classic feel. Either way it still seems like it could be pulled off rather nicely.

I'm interested in if they will do anything new with it, or is it just the same thing. Also, I think people are going to be getting a bit flustered since they have the controller hurdles to overcome.

I think that as long as the Wii U doesn't have a bunch of games that try to over do it with the tablet where it gets confusing, which I don't think they will for the most part. It should work about like a console sized DS. AC3, Pikmin 3, and Project P-100 seem to use it correctly so far as far as I can tell, so there could be hope for this Wii U yet.

There we go, hopefully Nintendo can keep this going, and most important, if this will use the tablet instead of the port, Black ops 2 on Wii U is NICE decision

It would be really cool to control predator missiles on the small screen with touch screen controls while the first person view still remains fixed on the big screen. There are a ton of possibilities when it comes to robot cameras and that little game pad. I hope treyarch takes the time to really get the best out of the Wii U's unique control system.
