Well this is what happens when you assume your fan base is a bunch of mindless drooling idiots. Which is exactly what Activision thinks. I knew it wouldn't fly for long but I was surprised it was this soon to actually see a noticeable percentage drop. Every couple years is fine, change up your model or you will burry your only franchise like you did all of the others. Fuck Activision.

MW3 killed the franchise. All of the fanboys getting anal about their game being a rehash finally got it through their thick skulls that MW3 was EXACTLY like MW2. Weapons were reskins, killstreaks were reskinned and had combined codes of MW2 killstreaks, props, graphics, and even character models were all reused. That was easily one of the most blatantly lazy games ever designed. Blops 2 however, THAT's the only CoD deserving of praise. Even if the spawns are still fucked and domination is just terrible now (and the annoying as shit hunter-killer drone deaths as soon as you spawn) and the knife is practically useless unless you have a tactical knife, they TRIED with this game.

They have to hit critical mass at some point, and tastes change. I love the Assassin's Creed games for their story, but their annualized releases makes the minor annoyances I have with the games stand out more, so I'm beginning to lose interest. I'd imagine it must be similar for Call of Duty fans.

Lower sales is more about people getting tired of this whole generation than any individual game.

This game has been an absolute disaster. The online multiplayer seems like they haven't even finished it. I've told all of my friends not to waste their money on this game and also suggest if anybody is thinking of buying this game does the same. A quick visit to the Activision forums will confirm that there are huge connection issues as well as aspects of the gameplay that people are severely unhappy with. It's a shame that this has happened to COD if I'm honest but they only have themselves to blame for their half-baked game.
