Whether you’re doing some last minute Christmas shopping for someone else or trying to drop hints about what you’d like to see under the Christmas tree this year, we’ve got what you want. We've scoured through hundreds of potential impulse purchases to pick out the very best gifts based on your favourite movies and shows, from the likes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to Fantastic Beasts and even a few retro goodies thrown in for fun, too. Here's our best gifts for movie and TV fans.
Lego Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum
You can pretty much collect the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe in Lego form now, and this Doctor Strange set is a real standout: get Stephen Strange himself, complete with his iconic cloak and its outrageously big collar, fighting a big tentacled monster. This set also comes with Mordo and The Ancient One. Shame there isn't a Lego version of Dormammu, so you could relive the best moment of the movie over and over again, although such a set would likely be too colossal for anyone's living room. You'll just have to settle for this one.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Newt Scamander Hardcover Ruled Journal
Pretend you're actually Newt Scamander, making notes on mystical creatures in this lovely-looking journal based on that belonging to the hero from 2016's Fantastic Beasts, when you're actually writing down a note to pick up some potatoes later. Real life may lack the thrilling glamour of the Harry Potter universe, but your notepad doesn't have to. This seems like a no-brainer.
This slick new iteration of the Ghostbusters has a lot of throwbacks to the original, but Paul Feig's summer revival of the horror comedy classic has plenty of its own merits. That includes the breakout Kate McKinnon as offbeat scientist Jillian Holtzmann, among a host of other modern comedy talents, including the expected scene-stealing from Melissa McCarthy. It's perhaps not a true classic in the way that the original was, but it's decent, energetic family fare for the holiday season, as the girls go from amateur ghost hunters to proton-packing experts in 134 minutes.
Gremlins soundtrack on vinyl
Of all the holiday-themed soundtracks to add to your record collection, Gremlins has to be the one – at least until they release the Jingle All The Way score on vinyl. Get yourself Jerry Goldsmith's soundtrack to Joe Dante's dark comedy horror classic, presented in this gorgeous-looking fold-out case. Enjoy listening to it while you fantasise about Gremlins turning on that family member you see every holiday but would really rather you didn't.
Harley Quinn/Joker Funko Pops
Harley Quinn was the obvious star of Suicide Squad, so much so that The Joker is basically in her shadow at this point, which is an interesting development considering her origin as his sidekick. Recreate the essence of Suicide Squad by placing this vinyl figure of Margot Robbie's Harley in a prominent position on your living room shelf, while putting the equivalent figure of Jared Leto's Joker in a cupboard forever after just five minutes. Funko Pops aren't for everyone, but this really was the year of Harley Quinn, and the level of detail on these vinyl pops is always impressive.
Batman: The Killing Joke
This adaptation of the controversial graphic novel where The Joker paralyses Barbara Gordon (AKA Batgirl) is contentious, but still essential viewing for Batman fans. It's a chance to see one of the most chilling and iconic Batman and Joker encounters ever played out by Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, stars of the acclaimed '90s animated series. Plus, as is always the case with DC's animated films, The Killing Joke successfully captures the grim, detailed look of the source material.
Game of Thrones Colouring Book
This HBO-branded Game of Thrones colouring book lets you doodle on iconic scenes from the fantasy epic series. Whether you wish to replicate the show's washed out colour palette, or you simply want to see if blue hair would suit Jon Snow better because you've misplaced most of your pencils, everything from portraits of the main cast to larger scenes like Battle of the Blackwater is featured here in some capacity.
The Walking Dead Negan t-shirt
Remind everyone of the year's most traumatising moment in television with this ceremonial t-shirt from The Walking Dead, featuring Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan and his outrageously overstylised bat, Lucille. Perhaps wearing this will help you come to terms with Glenn's horrific death at the start of season 7. Well, it probably won't, but the fan of The Walking Dead in your life will likely appreciate it anyway.
Feeding Hannibal: A Connoisseur's Cookbook by Janice Poon
Over a year after Hannibal's cancellation, the thing everyone remembers (aside from the grisly murder scenes and astonishingly good ensemble cast) is the food that Mads Mikkelsen's Hannibal Lecter cooks throughout the show's three seasons. This book is lovingly made for fans of the show, with a variety of recipes by the crew's own food stylist, Janice Poon, as well as other behind-the-scenes extras on this modern cult classic's creation.
Guardians of the Galaxy electronic dancing Groot
You've seen the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 trailer by now, and it's clear that Baby Groot is going to steal that movie, even if the fact he's voiced by Vin Diesel at this point is surely irrelevant. So why not just go all the way and have one live inside your house (Baby Groot, not Vin Diesel)? This is a high-end ornament for anyone who just can't wait until Summer 2017 to see the Guardians again.
