    By "Parallels", you mean actual history, folklore and legend that Wolfenstein aped from the real world to put directly into their game...yes? It's not a parallel if it's directly sourced from one format and planted into another. It's an interpretation of previous works and events.

    I feel compelled to be "that guy (facepalm)" today. I know this is a gaming site, but the internet is already too full of "because we said so it must be true" historical falsehoods and hoaxes. Though anyone can google the things you've mentioned here, or strike out on their own to do their own research, I think, if you're going to talk about history (*especially* the awesome side of it with big guns, mysteries and secrets, fascinating people, and thrilling battles) it's always best to cite your sources. Journalists certainly have to invest a lot of creativity into their writing to make their stories and articles interesting, but credibility and trust are vital too.
