Here's some interesting news for fans of TV's Supergirl - there are murmurs going round that CBS are looking to find a young Superman to appear in the show.
According to TV Line, they're in the process of searching for "a 13-year-old actor with 'future leading man looks' to play the potentially recurring role of Kal-El". Interestingly, while we may have witnessed the briefest of glimpses of a grown-up Clark Kent, a younger Man of Steel is required to fit into the show's new storyline.
But don't expect Superman to be appearing in the red caped form we're familiar with or even interacting in the present storyline, because he'll be used for a series of flashbacks in order to establish a viable relationship between himself and the namesake of the TV series. The young Superman is expected to début in season one during episode 13 - let's hope it doesn't prove unlucky in this instance.
While the news isn't totally 100% concrete, it would certainly add substance to the show having the iconic hero appear (even in childhood form), so we'll just have to wait and see whether the rumours are in fact true. You can catch Supergirl over on Sky 1.
