It seems we can't go a single episode this season without someone in Game of Thrones sending a mysterious message. I wouldn't mind, but they tend to do it in a way that means we can't read the whole message leaving us in the dark until next week, and that is just unacceptable.
Thankfully, I'm not the only one who thinks so because someone on Imgur has done some serious detective work on Sansa's letter from this week's episode and worked out roughly what it says. Check it out below.
For the impatient among you, below is basically everything that the user (and the rest of Reddit) could work out:
"[...] to protect me. Now you have a chance to fulfill your promise. [...] Knights of the Vale are under your command. Ride north for Winterfell. Lend us your aid and I shall see to it that you are [well/properly] rewarded."
Now the question is, who did she send it to? I think it's pretty obvious from the context that she's calling on Littlefinger for aid, despite giving him a right going over for abandoning her to the Boltons in a previous episode.
This is something Sophie Turner, the actress who plays Sansa Stark, has hinted at in a recent interview on the Making of Game of Thrones blog, where she talks about that scene in The Door. "The scene basically means that Littlefinger owes Sansa, big time." Explains Sophie. "It's also a big moment emotionally for her. It's the first time she's ever really stood up to Littlefinger. It's her showing him she's smarter and stronger and not one to be manipulated."
Obviously, Sansa is calling in her favour, but will Littlefinger muster the Knights of the Vale to help her and Jon retake Winterfell, or will he side with the Boltons?
Guess we'll have to wait for next week to find out. Damn.
