Skyrim 1.9 patch hits PS3 and Xbox 360

Skyrim's big ol' 1.9 patch goes live on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 today. Console adventurers can enjoy a host of bug fixes on top of a new difficulty mode and skill system.

Legendary difficulty and skills might be enough to tempt rehabilitated Skyrim junkies back into the habit: enemies deal three times as much damage and players dish out just a quarter of their own on the new difficulty; fully upgraded skills can be reset to allow for further leveling--don't worry, you needn't play on Legendary difficulty to do so.

Bethesda has not announced plans for Skyrim DLC beyond Dragonborn, but this patch shows the year-and-a-half-old game has a lot of life left in it.
