Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive have filed a pair of trademark applications for something called "Judas," which falls under the categorization of online games (and everything that entails, such as music, associated websites, etc). Just what, if anything, Judas will turn out to be though, is anyone's guess.
While the most famous use of the name is undoubtedly Judas Iscariot, disciple and eventual betrayer of Jesus, it can also be used to describe any traitorous person. Sounds like the type of moral grays we've come to expect from Rockstar, whose previous efforts include the Grand Theft Auto series, Red Dead Redemption, and LA Noire.
Still, I'm not so sure I see a AAA video game centered on Christianity coming down the pipe soon - the potential for offense and the technologically limited nature of the setting would be a turn-off for many potential players, I think. After all, you're not going to be able to pull off a driveby on the back of a donkey or camel. But! I could be wrong on that.
E3 2016 is less than two months away; perhaps an announcement is in short order. We'll be waiting, Rockstar.
