A tale begun in times of old...

If you freaked out about the reemergence of Sierra Games this past summer, then you're going to love this: King's Quest, Sierra's golden-era adventure series, is getting a revival too. With a soft announcement via Twitter and a full-on ceremony at The Game Awards 2014, the world finally got its first peek at the new King's Quest, and it looks just as awesome as we hoped.

The game's first official trailer shows our nervous, feather-capped hero dealing with a series of perilous challenges, including long falls, imposing rock ogres and, of course, a giant dragon. Rendered in sketchily stylized 3D, the trailer suggests a true return to form, bringing back everything we love about this series while still accounting for the sixteen years of development that have passed since its last installment. This quest begins in fall 2015, so dawn your feather caps, and get ready for an adventure.

That's all we know for now, but check out the images in the following slides for more Questy awesomeness.
