Game of Thrones returns this weekend which can only mean one thing. It's time to lock your doors, put your phone on silent, and find out if Daenerys has landed yet. If the return of Thrones feels like an event worth celebrating more than your own birthday, you might want to gather your friends together for the first episode and play our drinking game. The premiere airs on Sunday, July 16 at 9/8c on HBO in the US, and hits UK screens simultaneously at 2am BST on Monday July 17 via Sky Atlantic and Now TV. If we know HBO, you'll need plenty of booze to get through all the deaths in the season opener, but that's ok because we've got 11 Game of Thrones-themed drinks for you to enjoy too.

Scroll down for the ultimate Game of Thrones drinking game and have one hell of a Sunday evening. Oh, and before we forget, make sure you drink responsibly. The night is dark and full of terrors... like potential hangovers.

Every time you see a White Walker, give yourself a drink for courage

Every time someone drinks, you drink (watch out for Tyrion’s scenes)

Every time someone dies take a big ole gulp (if it’s someone you really care about finish your drink)

Drink every time Cersei sits on the Iron Throne

Every time a Red Priestess says, “The night is dark and full of terrors” take a drink

Every time someone swears - drink

Each time there’s a sex scene, drink until it’s over

Drink every time Bran has a flashback

Every time you see a dragon take a sip

Every time the Frey’s are on screen, hiss and boo and refuse to drink with them

If House Frey is defeated cheer and clap and down your drink

Every time Littlefinger creepily hits on Sansa take a drink

Every time someone loses a body part have a drink
