Hey Dragon Age fans - do you want a free downloadable character, exclusive in-game weapons, and access to a digital version of the soundtrack with your copy of Dragon Age II? Then you'd better get your pre-orders in before January 11th.
Developer BioWare announced today that the special Signature Edition of Dragon Age's sequel will be available not for a premium, but for those who guarantee their copy ahead of the game's March 8, 2011 release date. In other words, it's a glorified pre-order bonus.

"Over the past 15 years, we've been privileged to have the support of a passionate community of fans, who continue to grow in number with every game we release. The BioWare Signature Edition of Dragon Age II is a chance for us to reward loyal fans who pre-order the game by providing them with additional high-quality content for free," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, senior VP of BioWare parent company EA.
The Signature Edition includes the following special content:
- Download code for a special playable character, and exclusive new missions
- An in-game armory filled with weapons and other items
- A digital soundtrack featuring all of the game's original music
BioWare says all of this extra material is a $20 value.
After January 11th, anyone who pre-orders the game will receive the Dragon Age II standalone game with no bonus content. Additionally, the Signature Edition will not be purchasableon store shelves. It is strictly a pre-order exclusive. Pretty smart move there, BioWare.
