CoD 4: Missed out on the beta? Check out our fresh footage

Those of you who weren’t lucky enough to be invited to download the Xbox 360 multiplayer beta of Call of Duty 4: Modern warfare, now have the chance to see what all the fuss is about by fixingyour sights on our freshly captured footage. And we’re please to report it’s every bit as satisfying as it looks.

An especially nice feature is the inclusion of assist points. Remember the intense feeling of anger you get after off-loading an entire clip into an enemy only for a team mate to come along and steal your kill? Those days are gone. Modern warfare awards you points ifyou almost kill an enemy but just miss out on that final shot. Granted it’s not as many pointsas you'd get if you managed to finish the job yourself, but at least you get something for your efforts.

Continued play earns you experience points, which in turn increase your rank. The higher your rank the more choice you have when choosing which weapon set to take into battle. Choosing the “Spec Ops” class equips you with fast short-range weapons while after unlocking “Sniper” class you’ll be given the choice of starting the fight with, predictably, a sniper rifle. Of course any weapon dropped by fallen team mates can be scooped up off the floor and put to good use, that is, of course, until the enemy fills you with lead.

James Jarvis
Executive Producer, GR Video

Hi I'm James or JJ if you like, I'll answer to both. I'm the Executive producer for GR video which means I've had at least a part in all the hot moving pictures you'll find on the site (even if that part was just saying, yes that's a good video). I also produce the Future Games Show and Golden Joystick Awards. Away from the office you'll either find me playing Fortnite, or walking my dog. I'm better at one than the other, I'll let you decide which.
