Barely a day passes without Bryan Cranston being attached to some new project or another. Now the World's Busiest Actor™ has revealed that he's developing an adaptation of Home Again .

The workaholic is set to write and direct the movie, which is based on the novel by David Wiltse, though the title is expected to change.

Talking to Hollywood.com, Cranston said of the project: "It’s basically a very strong father-son story, and a murder-mystery.

"An FBI agent who suddenly quits the department and takes his son and his wife and moves back to his hometown of Cascade, Nebraska, to rekindle family values and pay attention now.

"He’s been working for the FBI for years, so he’s been home sporadically. And his son is now sixteen, very sensitive, and looks upon his father like sort of a stranger…

"And then there’s a murder that happens in the little town that they move to, which kills [ the father’s ] whole stance on, 'Things are better in these small towns!' And then things unravel, and basically, the father and son come together at the end and save each other emotionally and literally."

There's no definitive word on whether Cranston plans to take the lead role for himself, but we wouldn't put it past the prolific thesp.

This won't be Cranston's first time in the director's chair though. He directed (and wrote) small scale indie Last Chance in 1999, and he has directed a handful of stuff for TV, including episodes of his own shows Malcolm In The Middle and Breaking Bad .

On the actor's insanely rammed schedule at the moment are Rock Of Ages , World War Z , Total Recall and Argo , and he has recently completed work on (brace yourself) John Carter , Red Tails , Leave , the animated adap of Batman: Year One , Larry Crowne and Drive .

Breaking Bad scheduling issues mean that Cranston may not start production on Home Again until next year, which he calls a "lovely problem".
