Peter Molyneux will soon have another trophy to hang in his study, studio, sanctuary achievement room or wherever else guys like Peter Molyneux display notable industry awards. As if his lifetime achievement nodatnext week'sGame Developers Conference wasn't enough of an ego-boost, the Lionhead Studios head has also been pegged to receive the British Academy of Film and Television Arts' (BAFTA) 2011 Academy Fellowship title during the association's GAME British Academy Video Game Awards in March.
The designation recognizes Molyneux's influential career in gaming; specifically his early contributions at Bullfrog Productions, his hand in creating the %26ldquo;god game%26rdquo; genre and his work on classic titles such as Black %26amp; White, Populous, ThemeParkand the Fable series of games.

%26ldquo;We are delighted to be honoring Peter at this point in his long and successful career in video games. He is one of the leading figures in the development of video games as an art form and an inspiration to the next generation of creative minds," said Amanda Berry OBE, Chief Executive of BAFTA.
Reflecting on his latest achievement, Molyneux noted: %26ldquo;I remember back in 1967 watching the first BAFTA awards on television with my family and seeing them being so excited about those accolades. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think it would be possible for me to accept one of the greatest honors the entertainment industry has to offer.%26rdquo;
By acceptinghis place intheBAFTA Academy Fellowship, Molyneux joins the ranks of other industry notables including Shigeru Miyamoto, Will Wright and Nolan Bushnell.
The GAME British Academy Video Games Awards will be streamed liveat theBAFTA websiteon March 16th.
