Arkham Knight collector's edition is Bat-cancelled

Well, this is a new one. According to a report on Kotaku, Warner Bros. Interactive has flat-out cancelled the collector's edition of Batman: Arkham Knight, a mere six days before release. Retailers across the United States, Europe, and Australia are sending out apology emails en masse.

The $200/£170 collector's edition would've come with a variety of goodies, including a transforming replica of the Batmobile, but unfortunately, quality concerns with the famous Bat-car have forced WB to reevaluate its release. Rather than just dropping the Batmobile and lowering the price, the publisher has simply decided to cancel the thing entirely.

According to statement from Warner, anyone affected by the cancellation will receive a New 52 DLC skin pack, free of charge. Of course, you'll be able to refund your money completely or apply it to a different version of the game if you like. It's no transforming Batmobile, but hey, at least you won't have wasted your money on a broken collectible.
