Trek XI titbits
SyFyPortal has an interview with costume illustrator Dawn Brown in which she reveals that she’s been on the sets for the next Trek film, and is very excited about them. "I think a lot of hardcore fans are going to freak out," she says. "As far as I know, only the exterior of the Enterprise had to stay the same. I don't know if that came from JJ or Paramount… I can't discuss any details, all I can offer is that you lose all your expectations of what Star Trek should be. If you see this movie with an open mind and take it at face value, you may have a great time… I am surprised every time I walk on stage. You can read into that however you like."
The full interview also covers Brown’s work on the upcoming Watchmen film: “The costume designer, Michael Wilkinson, gave me very specific direction on the design of the suits," she said. "Obviously, we are all aware of what Dave Gibbons did. Some character designs are very faithful to the book. Others will be completely different."
Harry Potter and the Del Toro Hallows?
Guillermo Del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy) told MTV News that he'd be interested in directing the final Harry Potter film, reports Digital Spy . "I read it and I was very moved by the ending. It ends very much like a Dickens novel," he says. Then again, Toro is linked to a about a billion projects at the moment (Frankenstein, The Champions, his Spanish-language follow-up to Pan’s Labyrinth) so Lord knows when he'd find the time. You’ve gotta admit, though, it’s an interesting idea...
