The Last of Us Part 1 PC port is available now, allowing PC players to hop into the cordyceps-ravaged world, but it's not available on Xbox. The critically-acclaimed PlayStation exclusive title can be purchased from Steam or the Epic Games Store, but The Last of Us Part 1 isn't going to be available on Xbox consoles or the Windows store, and it's still looking very, very, unlikely that it ever will be. If you're looking for something to keep you busy between seasons of The Last of Us HBO show or just want to play the game with the benefits of a PC, then you can get the The Last of Us Part 1 Remake on PC now.
The Last of Us Part 1 PC release
The Last of Us Part 1 PC port launched on March 28, 2023, on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Get it on Steam and you can dress Ellie in exclusive Left 4 Dead and Portal t-shirts too! This is the remake of the game which launched on PS5 in 2022, and it includes the Left Behind DLC too. The franchise has proudly been an exclusive for Sony since its launch in 2013, however, the publisher has softened to PC in recent years with other top-tier PlayStation exclusives games, such as God of War and Uncharted, previously moving to PC.
The Last of Us Part 1 is (probably) not coming to Xbox or Game Pass
At time of writing there have been no indications that we'll see The Last of Us Part 1 Remake on Xbox. While Death Stranding, another PlayStation game has made the jump to Game Pass, that was A) PC Game Pass, not the Xbox Game Pass and B) not technically a Sony game - Kojima Productions signed a deal with PlayStation but aren't owned by them.
Admittedly, nobody has empirically said that The Last of Us Part 1 won't be on Xbox at some point in the future, but it so unlikely - big console exclusive are what Sony (and Xbox) use to sell their consoles, so they probably won't be giving away access to their rivals. Assume this is a "no" until we hear otherwise.

If you're a fan of the HBO show, we've also laid out everything we know so far about The Last of Us season 2.

Joel Franey is a writer, journalist, podcaster and Very Tired Man with a BA from Brunel University, a Masters from Sussex University and a decade working in games journalism, often focused on guides coverage but also in reviews, features and news. His love of games is strongest when it comes to groundbreaking narratives like Disco Elysium, UnderTale and Baldur's Gate 3, as well as innovative or refined gameplay experiences like XCOM, Sifu, Arkham Asylum or Slay the Spire. He is a firm believer that the vast majority of games would be improved by adding a grappling hook, and if they already have one, they should probably add another just to be safe. You can find old work of his at Eurogamer, Gfinity, USgamer, SFX Magazine, RPS, Dicebreaker, VG247, and more.
