Sun, football and the early time slot knock a million off the viewing figures, but it's still number one for Saturday night
The second episode of the latest season of Doctor Who , “The Beast Below” was seen by 6.4 million viewers on BBC1 with a further 0.33 million watching on BBC HD.
That's well down on the figures for “The Eleventh Hour” but still made Doctor Who the highest rated programme on Saturday, a million ahead of its nearest rival, The Nation Lottery game show Who Dares Wins . And this week Who did have to compete with FA Cup Football and good weather. However, it remains a massive figure for a UK drama, and once again Doctor Who is dominating the iPlayer charts.
The later start time and Daleks should see the show’s audience bouncing back next week.
