Warhammer 40K Chaos fans love the new models, and I agree with their "O hell to the f*** YES" verdict

It's a very good time to be a Warhammer 40K Chaos Space Marine fan, because they keep getting kick-ass models – and the latest ones look as though they've stomped their way over from the Doom franchise.

Brand-new Mutilators (AKA horrific blends of human and machine that love close combat) are on the way later this year as part of a refresh for the popular faction. Because this fresh hell follows hot on the heels of pirates from the New Year Warhammer Preview 2026, airborne raiders courtesy of the latest Kill Team box-set, and a twisted hero who seems to be the next campaign book's big bad, fans of the Chaos Space Marines army are eating well. Warhammer 40K fans seem to agree; in the r/Warhammer40k reddit thread discussing the reveal, users like SandiegoJack sum up the mood nicely with "O hell to the fuck YES."

While there's still a question mark over how well these models will perform in-game (the most upvoted comment is Squidmaster616 asking if "they'll actually have worthwhile rules this time"), the response seems to have been very positive overall. You can see the multi-part miniatures – which were first unveiled via a Warhammer Community blog post and come in a pack of three – below.

All of the above marks out 2026 as one of the best opportunities to play the faction we've had in years; it's been a long time since the army received such a wealth of new troops. As a Chaos Space Marine fan who's only just started collecting the faction again after years of trying other armies, I can't help feeling as though I've been blessed by the Ruinous Powers.

The ride doesn't seem like it's going to end there, though. Judging by a tease at the beginning of the year, we're still due a Defiler (a giant, daemonic tank mech) alongside what the Warhammer Community blog describes as a "mysterious ‘Eye of Terror’ book." I suspect this will be the third, and potentially final, entry in the campaign started by 500 Worlds. Judging by previous years, this should then lead into a new edition of Warhammer 40K.
