Star Wars: Battlefront made a strong showing last week by coming in at number two and this week it usurps Electronic Arts' The Sims 2 at the top. However, EA have plenty to celebrate with their titles hogging positions two, three and four.
The real story of this week's charts is the proliferation and success of the new entries, with four newbies slamming straight into the top 10. Def Jam Fight for NY flings itself into the ring at nine, Rome: Total War sets up camp at six, while the Pokemon duo of Fire Red and Leaf Green chart at five and seven, respectively. Pokemon sales are so strong, in fact, that GBA titles overall account for 10.7% of the total software market this week, the highest share since around this time last year.
The major release next week is FIFA 2005, which we'd expect to come straight in at number one, putting EA back on top of the pile yet again. There are few other major titles hitting the shops but watch out in particular for Tony Hawk's Underground 2, Fable and Pikmin 2.
