It was sadly confirmed over the weekend that Star Trek star Anton Yelchin has tragically died at the age of 27 following a freak car accident.
It's terribly sad news, not least because the talented actor had impressed in a number of other movies - including Like Crazy, Terminator: Salvation, Alpha Dog, and more recently Green Room - and still clearly had so much left to give. By all accounts he was well-liked across the industry too, something which has become even more apparent in the wake of his passing.
The cast and crew of the rebooted Star Trek franchise (and more) have filled Twitter with tributes to the actor who will reprise his role as Chekov in Star Trek Beyond when it hits cinemas this July.
Still in shock. Rest in peace, Anton. Your passion and enthusiasm will live on with everyone that had the pleasure of knowing you.June 19, 2016
