Famously enthusiasts of long-term planning, Marvel's upcoming movie slate extends many years into the future, with a number of untitled projects lined up for 2016, 2017 and beyond.
This morning, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive concerning the identity of one of said projects, with JoBlo reporting that the title Marvel has planned for a 6 May 2016 release is none other than Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 .
Naturally, this will probably depend to some extent on how well the first Guardians film is received when it arrives later this year, but should it prove a success, it would make sense to get a sequel up and running sooner rather than later.
With most of its major properties having sequels either released or in the works, it would follow that Marvel has similar plans for Guardians , particularly if the new film is tied in with the Avengers story arc.
