Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles are shaking free of their Wii-exclusive shackles to be born again on Sony's PlayStation Network in Resident Evil Chronicles: HD Collection. The compilation download will arrive this June as a PlayStation Move title, with an option to control the action using a standard PS3 controller.
Witness the rebirth of Resident Evil's motion-controlled nightmares in the trailer below:
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, originally released for Wii in 2007, covers events from Resident Evil Zero, 1, and 3 through the perspective of eight of the franchise's most familiar characters. Meanwhile, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, released in 2009, weaves in and out of the events surrounding Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica, and adds some backstory leading up to Resident Evil 4. Add them altogether and players should get a nice little summary of the Resident Evil series (if not some really good target practice).
Both the Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles scored 7 out of 10 in our own reviews (here and here). Perhaps fresh paint of coat, better value, and upgraded controls will equate to a better showing on PSN?
