Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare mythical creatures, such as Chupacabra and four hellish horses, join the zombified locals in America and Mexico. These legendary beasts are exciting and rare finds in Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare, with the four horses of the apocalypse also being exceptionally good, tameable horses thanks to their special powers, so it's well worth seeking one of them out. Just a note that the animals that aren’t story related will have a blue marker appear when they're near, except for the Unicorn. Here's where you can find several mythical creatures in the Undead Nightmare DLC for Red Dead Redemption.

Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare Sasquatch

Location: Tall Trees
Time: Anytime

Near the beginning of the game, there will be a survivor’s mission available in Tall Tree’s called “The Birth of the Conservation Movement”. Here you will need to take down some... Sasquatch? Sasquatches? Sasquatchi? Anyway, you need to take a few of them down and you can return to the snowy lands of Tall Trees anytime afterwards to find them again. When you bag your first Bigfoot, you’ll get the Six Years in the Making achievement/trophy.

Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare Chupacabra

NOTE: The Chupacabra can only be encountered once the player has reached the Undead Hunter Rank 5 Challenge.

Location: Randomly spawns in the Nuevo Paraiso territories
Time: Various

The Chupacabra is a grey beast that looks similar to a boar. If you look on the map, there are three horses near the town of Torquemada. The creature will show up around there, sometimes further south, but always in the general area. Once it appears, it will bolt and you will have to give chase. It’s a quick little bugger so make sure you set after it as soon as you see it. It doesn’t take much to bring it down, as a few rifle shots will do the trick. It will also nab you the Chupathingy achievement/trophy.

Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare Unicorn

Location: Around Torquemada and Diez Coronas after the Chupacabra has been killed and the Four Horses of the Apocalypse Challenges have been completed.
Time: 5pm

The Unicorn can only be found once the Legendary level has been reached in the hunting challenge - which consists of finding and killing the Chupacabra. To find the Unicorn, simply go to the same place the Chupracabra was, near Torquemada and the three horses on the map. For me, the Unicorn didn’t appear until I had all of the challenges completed and the achievement/trophy popped. Unlike every other creature, there is no warning blue circle that it is near, so you need to keep an eye open and look for it the old fashioned way. Once you get ahold of the butterfly spouting horse, you’ll also get the Fan Service achievement/trophy.

Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare Pestilence horse

Location: Tall Trees Area, West Elizabeth region

This smog emitting horse that is “nearly impossible to kill”, can be found at the far north area of Tall Trees and to the northeast of Cochinay. Once you break the foul beast and make it yours, you will have it at your disposal until you either kill it - like I did 30 seconds after getting it, because it fell off a cliff - or until you grab yourself another horse.

Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare War horse

Location: Gaptooth Ridge, New Austin region

The fiery horse known as War can be found in and around Gap Tooth Ridge. Easier to tame than Pestilence, War can set enemies on fire and amazingly enough not you - since, you know, he’s between your legs. Again, when you hit Gap Tooth Ridge, wander about until the blue circle pops up letting you know that there is a Mythological Creature around.

Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare Famine horse

Location: Just south of Chuparosa, East of Tesoro Azul, Nuevo Paraiso Region
Time: Midnight

Famine can be found at a few places in Mexico, but all are within the triangle of Chuparosa/Ojoda Diablo/Barranca. Head there around midnight and the black and white horse with locusts flying around it will be roaming the area. Famine, like the other horses, has unlimited stamina and while the locusts that surround its body are an interesting effect, constantly hearing the buzzing while riding can get aggravating.

Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare Death horse

NOTE: Only appears after Rank 3 of the Four Horses of the Apocalypse Challenge has been completed

Location: Random, awarded to the player after completing the game

Death pops up every once in a while as you are traversing the map. Death is a white horse that has a cloud of smoky mist around it and trailing it when it runs. When you do grab it, it will instantly kill any enemy that it tramples and makes your life much easier. If you don’t find Death during your travels, you will also grab it at the end of the campaign.
