Purchasing a Nintendo Switch? Best Buy will toss in a $60 game for free

Nintendo isn't the first name that comes to mind when you think of discounted games. Ten years after its debut, if I wanted to buy a copy of the Metroid Prime Trilogy for Wii, I'd still have to shell out $45 at GameStop. So when the Nintendo Switch, a wildly successful console gets a deal, you better believe we're jumping right on it.

While the Nintendo Switch itself isn't being marked down, Best Buy will let you pick one of "hundreds" of games to pair with your full price, $300 Nintendo Switch. Seeing as most big name Switch releases are priced at $60, you're essentially getting a console and a game for around 17% off. By no means is that a small margin. In fact, all things considered, it saves you a rather substantial chunk of change you can pocket for a rainy day... or use to buy another game right now.

Included in the mix are high profile killer apps such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild  and Super Mario Odyssey in addition to fresh faces like Mortal Kombat 11 and the Final Fantasy X/X-2 remaster. Better yet, the Pokémon-branded Let's Go! Pikachu bundle is eligible for this deal as well. Thus, if you were planning on picking up one of the most adorable gems on Switch anyway, you can now do so while also netting yourself an extra goodie. Sounds like a win-win.

In our 2018 year-end review, we called the Nintendo Switch an "indispensable addition to any gamer's arsenal" and "a viable competitor to the juggernauts of PS4 and Xbox One." Unlike its predecessor, the Wii U, it has largely avoided desert-like software release gaps due to its unflinching embrace of third party developers and aggressive growth on the first party front. And, hey, it helps that the 3DS is phasing out.

Although we've heard whispers of that two new Switch models are coming out this summer, we wouldn't let these rumors stop you from taking advantage of this enchanting bundle discount. After all, who knows how much the refresh will cost? I'm skeptical it can get much better than this.
