Pokemusings, week six

Weavile can learn a pretty wide variety of offensive maneuvers (and no, he's not a bloody tank commander... that's an Eddie Izzard joke... it's funny... trust us). Aerial Ace will help you out if you're stuck against a fighting type (a major weakness for Weavile). Brick Break covers other types that are strong against ice and dark attacks. Ice Shard is an alternative to Ice Punch; it's not as powerful, but comes in handy when you're facing off a speedy Pokemon using a speed-boosting move or item. Pursuit, Taunt, and Focus Punch are other moves that you should consider for Weavile.

Remember though, Night Slash and Ice Punch are Weavile's key moves. It learns the former move at level 35. Getting the latter takes some breeding work. In something of an ironic twist, the key to getting Ice Punch on this clawed and menacing Pokemon is a cute and fluffy bunny. That's right, you'll need a Buneary in order to spawn a ice-punching Weavile - funny that.

Before we get to Buneary, you'll need a male Medicham or a Hitmonchan that knows Ice Punch. Leave him at the Daycare Center with a female Buneary. Let them produce a few eggs and go hatch them. One of your hatchlings should be a male Buneary that knows Ice Punch. Now take a female Sneasel and leave it in Daycare with your new male Buneary. They will produce a Sneasel that knows Ice Punch.

After this, just raise your newborn Sneasel normally. Give it a Razor Claw and level it up at night. You'll now have your very own legend-killing Weavile! If raised properly, your Weavile should be able to dispatch a large number of legendary Pokemon with ease. Now let's get to this week's giveaway!
