New Seasons For Supernatural and Smallville

Could Smallville become the longest-running SF show in US history? It’s takes another step towards beating Stargate SG-1’s record of 10 seasons as the CW channel announces that a ninth season of the "young superman" show has been given the green light. Though quite how long it can go on being a "young Superman" show when the cast are rapidly approaching middle age is a mystery. But ratings are still strong, despite many changes to the format (and a change of showrunners) so Smallville shows no signs of slowing down.

And a big cheer for Supernatural which the CW has renewed for a fifth season. The show just keeps on getting better.
