The trailer for Disney's animated film Planes has been released online.
Dane Cook ( Good Luck Chuck ) voices Dusty, a cropdusting plane who dreams of competing in a famous aerial race but is afraid of heights. With help from his mentor Skipper (Stacey Leach) and a host of new friends, Dusty sets off to make his dreams come true. Top Gun favourites Val Kilmer and Anthony Edwards join the cast as two fighterjets, with John Cleese ( Shrek 2 ) and Cedric the Entertainer ( Madagascar ) also on board.
John Lasseter ( Toy Story , Up ) produces the film with Klay Hall ( Tinker Bell And The Lost Treasure ) taking the director's chair. Planes was originally going to be a direct-to-video release but looks like it did enough to make it to the big screen.
Cars , of course, is the reference point here, so it will be interesting to see how this spin-off fares. Watch the Planes trailer below now:
Planes lands in the UK on 16 August 2013.
