The Lone Ranger is saddling up for a summer 2013 release, and a batch of new images from the western TV adap have been unveiled.
These new snaps come in addition to the first official image , which was unveiled by producer Jerry Bruckheimer earlier this year.
Armie Hammer plays the straight-shooting title character, but it’s Johnny Depp who’s expected to pinch scenes as Native American sidekick Tonto.
The new images (via USA Today ) give away no plot specifics, but do at least promise an incredible-looking epic. Dust flies, horses gallop, and trains chug in what could be the prettiest western since The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford .
Director Gore Verbinski ( Pirates Of The Caribbean , Rango ) describes TLR as a “dysfunctional buddy movie.”

Fresh reports suggest that the budget has gone as high as $250m as the shooting totals more than 140 days. Let’s hope the final product warrants the effort.
We’ll find out when The Lone Ranger opens in the UK on 9 August 2012.
